The use of VR glasses usually involves downloading the Meta Horizon app on your smartphone. This app on your smartphone serves as a central platform to connect to your VR device, to access the Oculus Store for content, or, as in the case of Crisalix VR, to redeem a code for exclusive access.
For Android devices, download the Meta app from the Google Play Store.
For iOS devices, download the Meta app from the App Store.
Only healthcare professionals with a valid Crisalix code, can access the Crisalix VR app and use it with their VR headset.
Make sure you have your code. If you do not have any code, contact your Customer Success Manager.
These procedures apply to Meta and Samsung Gear VR devices. For universal (or cardboard) VR headsets see How to use a universal cardboard VR headset with Crisalix VR app.
Select your VR device and follow the instructions:
Meta Quest devices
Make sure you meet the following prerequisites:
- The Meta Quest headset is set following the instructions provided by the manufacturer (see here).
- The Meta Horizon app is installed on your smartphone or tablet.
- Your CSM (Customer Success Manager) has provided you with a valid Meta Quest code. If you do not have any code, contact your CSM.
Every Meta Quest code is private and personal and is intended to download the Crisalix VR app. If you try to share your Meta code with another person, it will not work.
Follow these steps to download and install the Crisalix VR app on your smartphone:
- Select to open the Meta Horizon app on your mobile device.
- Turn on your VR headset.
- At the bottom of the Meta (feed) home screen, select Menu and then select Settings.
- Scroll down and select [*]Redeem store code.
- Enter your Crisalix code.
Every Crisalix Meta Quest code is private and personal and is intended to download the Crisalix VR app. If you try to share your code with another person, it will not work.
- Select Submit.
The Crisalix VR image and name appear under "You've successfully redeemed the following content:". - Verify that the Crisalix VR is available in your library:
- Go back to the main “feed” home screen.
- At the top of the home screen, select your headset.
- Under Manage your Device, select App Library.
- Check for App Lab > Crisalix VR app.
- Put on your VR headset.
- On the Meta home screen, open the App library and find Crisalix VR app.
- Select to open the app.
Samsung Gear VR devices
The Gear VR cannot be operated by itself, it must be powered by a Samsung Galaxy smartphone.
Make sure you meet the following steps to set up the Gear VR:
- Ensure that your Samsung smartphone is compatible with the Gear VR. Please take a look at the compatibility lists provided on the Samsung page or the Meta page.
- Install and/or open the Meta Horizon app on your smartphone and follow the instructions to either log in with an existing Meta / Facebook / Instagram account or create a new one.
- Connect your smartphone to the Gear VR headset by opening the front cover, aligning your phone with the USB-C or Micro USB connector, and securing it in place.
- Retrieve your smartphone from the headset.
Follow these steps to download and install the Crisalix VR app on your smartphone:
- Select to open the Meta Quest app on your mobile device.
- Turn on your VR headset.
- At the bottom of the Meta home screen, select Menu and then select Settings.
- Scroll down and select [*]Redeem store code.
- Enter your Crisalix code.

- Select Submit.

Although you uninstall your application, Meta will always keep it in your library. If you do not see Crisalix VR app installed, verify if you are logged in with the same account, open your library to find it, and install it again.
